Sikkim, a small north-eastern state of India, located long sequestered in the laps of the Himalayas is a paradise on earth and one of the smallest state in India in an area of 7,096 sq.kms and population of around 5.5 Lakhs. This gentle green state is surrounded by Nepal, Bhutan and China. Its rich culture of mixed ethnic groups of Lepchas, Bhutias, Limbus and Tibetans makes your visit a remarkable experience in your life.  Kanchenjunga the world third highest peak which many of Sikkimese revered as the guardian deity attracts many thousand number of people each year from around the world. Apart from it Tsomgo Lake attracts many visitors when the lake is frozen especially during the winters. You will find many monasteries, and a sense of peace and tranquility. Most rare and unique orchid flower are found here. Sikkim is a multilingual, multi religious and multicultural state. 

Many people expect Sikkim to be a smaller version of Kathmandu, overflowing with ancient temples, palaces, monasteries, and narrow colorful bazaars. It is an interesting and pleasant place to stay and people here are exceptionally friendly. This is a comprehensive tour for those looking for a short and comprehensive holiday.

Day 01: Bagdogra to Gangtok (5 hrs drive / 127 kms / 1676 m)

Upon arrival you will be received by our representative at Bagdogra Airport. You will now take 5 hours journey to the Land of the Pristine and unspoilt natural beauty – Sikkim, with alpine landscapes and thick luxuriant forests, rivers , torrents and peaceful lakes. Arrive at Gangtok (5500 Ft). Check-in at Hotel.

Day 02: Sightseeing Tour in Gangtok

Early morning drive to Observatory Hill for Sun-rise. After breakfast, walk around the town and visit Tibetan Refugee handicraft center. Afternoon: Vist Rumtek Monastery (23 kms) which is the present seat of the famous Karmapa Lama of the 'Black Hat ' Kaygu sect of Tibetan Buddhism. It is also the largest monastery in Sikkim and a great vantage point where you can see the whole town of Gangtok and the majestic Kanchanjunga. Overnight in Gangtok.

Day 3: Excursion to Tsomgo Lake (2.5 hrs /40 kms / 3753 m)

Full day Excursion. After breakfast proceed to Tsomgo Lake 3,753 m (12,313 ft.), a 40 km drive which takes 2.5 hrs. This lake is located very close to Nathula Pass which is the entry point to China termed as the “Silk Route & remains frozen for most parts of the year. Legend has it that the Lamas use to forecast the future by studying the color of the lakes waters. Enjoy the surroundings, majestic snowy peaks which feed the lake and the clean fresh air. Back to Gangtok by 3pm for a late lunch. Evening free for leisure or go shopping for Sikkim’s traditional handicrafts. Overnight stay.

Day 04: Depart Gangtok to onward Destination

After breakfast drive for Bagdogra. Arrive Bagdogra and depart to next destination


Transportation:From Kathmandu, take the one hour flight to Bhadrapur (the nearest Nepalese airport to Darjeeling, Sikkim and Kalimpong. Drive to Kakarvitta (Nepal/Indian boarder 34km), to Silguri (36km) and to  Sikkim - 127 km (5 hours). The nearest airport in India is Bagdogra, where schedule flights operate from New Delhi, Calcutta and Guwahati. The nearest rail heads are Siliguri and New Jalpaiguri (88km) which are connected to Calcutta, New Delhi, Guwahati and other major cities in India.

Note: Sikkim now has an airport at Pakyong village build recently in 2018. It is 35 km from Gangtok. Druk Air and SpiceJet have started their flights to Pakyong. The nearest airport is Bagdogra. Due to technical glitch the flight from Pakyong has temporarily stopped its operation. Will update you once flights are initiated by Indian government.
