It takes you first to Everest Base Camp and adventurous Chola Pass crossing over 5420 meter before you reach to Gokyo lake. Twin otters fly this route of contrasting country with the snow line of the Himalayan range to the north and rugged foothills of Nepal immediately below and stretching away to the south. The landing at Lukla airstrip (9,184/2,800m) adds considerably to the general excitement of landing on a mountain airstrip. At Lukla we will be met by our Sirdar and the entire trekking crew which includes Sherpas, kitchen staff and porters who will be with us for the duration of the trek. After a sort out and a cup of tea, we begin our trek to Monjo. Overnight at Monjo.
DAY 04: MONJO - NAMCHE (3440M) - Guest House accommodation

Thamserku (21,806 ‘6,648m) and Kwangde (20,417/6,224m) loom to the east and west, and the sacred mountain Khumbila (18,729/5,707m) dominates the skyline to the north behind the village. Time –8hours.

DAY 05: NAMCHE (acclimatization day) - Guest House accommodation
A day walk towards Thame (12,467/3,801m) for acclimatization. During an acclimatization day it is important to take some sort of exercise and preferably to gain some altitude before sleeping at the same height for a second night. From Namche we traverse westwards on our acclimatization walk with views of Kwangde (20,806’/6,343m) and the waterfalls, cascading off its flanks into the Bhote Kosi far below. We cross the river higher up and climb up through rhododendron forest to Yak pastures, which Surround Thame. This is the birth place of Tenzing Norgay, the first Sherpa ever to climb Mt. Everest. Time 6 – hours round trip, it is easy to cut it short for anyone finding it hard going.
DAY 06: NAMCHE - TENGBOCHE (3863M) - Guest House accommodation
The trail descends forming a dramatic View of Ama Dablam (21, 9641/6,696m) and Kangtaiga (22,235’/6,779m) flanked by the towering heights of Sagarmatha (the Nepalese name for Everest).Lhotse and Nuptse. Cross the Dudh Kosi at Phungithanga and climb through rhododendron forest to the saddle at the top of the hill. Here lies Tengboche, the main monastery of the Khumbu area. The views from here are unforgettable. Tengboche lies at the base of Kangtaiga and the spur of this ridge affords panoramic views of the main peaks of Khumbu including Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Time – 5 hours.
DAY 07: TENGBOCHE - DINGBOCHE (4412M) - Guest House accommodation
Descend from Thyangboche and again cross the Imja Khola, and then trek uphill gradually to Pangboche. There is an interesting Gompa site above the main village. The trekker is in the midst of the Himalaya here, with spectacular views all round. For acclimatization, there is a need to spend two nights around the 14,000’/4,268m level and Dingboche lying in a sheltered spot above the Imja Khola is generally more attractive than Pheriche. It is however, of note that the Himalayan rescue association has their aid post at Pheriche. Time – 5 hours
DAY 08: DINGBOCHE (4412M) Rest and acclimatization day - Guest House accommodation
A day walk up to Chukung (4730m) is highly recommended. The route gradually ascends to the few scattered stone huts that make up the settlement. To the south are ever changing views of Ama Dablam and to the north the massive walls of the Nuptse ridge and the south face of Lhotse. Time – 5 hours.
DAY 09: DINGBOCHE - LOBUCHE (4,910M) - Guest House accommodation
The route past Pheriche slants over a ridge and stays above the village. It joins the trail below Thugla. There are great views of Cholatse (21,129/6,442m) across the valley. After another steep ascent, the trail climbs up and over the terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. Up and along the west lateral moraine of the Glacier, the trail is in parts. Stark and rugged beauty creates almost a moonscape. Camp site at Lobuche, a windswept collection of huts tucked in a narrow meadow between the glacier and the Lobuche peak (20,192/6,156m). Tawache and Nuptse are particularly spectacular from Lobuche, towering almost 2 kilometres directly overhead. Time 5 Hours.
DAY 10: LOBUCHE - KALAPATTAR (5545m) - GORAKSHEP (5160M) - Guest House accommodation
The route continues along the north bank of the Khumbu glacial moraine crossing rough boulder fields. Great views of Pumori and all the peaks across on the other side of the glacier. There is a short descent down into a sandy bowl known as Gorak at the foot of Kallar Patter.
After small stop at Gorakshehep you climb Kalapattar (5545m). The actual distance is not so far but you take it very slowly to compensate for the altitude stopping at Gorakhshep (5288m) for a light lunch. You then take the climb to Kala Pathar (5545m) from where you can see the Everest Base Camp is just down. This is a hard pull but the view from top surpasses anything you can imagine. All around us flow huge glacier ice. The mountains of PUMORI (7145m), LINGTREN (6697m) and Khumbutse (6623m) separate you from Tibet, and just over the Lho La pass. You see the huge rock of Changtse (7550m) in Tibet itself. But the queen of them all - Sagarmatha (Mt. Everest 8848m) towers over everyone. Time 7 hours.
DAY 11: EVEREST BASE CAMP DAY TRIP and BACK TO ZHONGLHA (4,835m) - Guest House accommodation
From Gorakshep there is a short steep descent down the lateral moraine onto the Khumbu glacier. Once on the glacier the route meanders through the Ice bluffs following a well-worn trail laid down by the yaks supplying base camp. It takes approximately four hours to reach base camp at 5,360M/17,044’. Once at base camp the Sherpas will organize a small Puja, ceremony, with prayer flags and incense to mark your arrival. Great opportunity to take photos on the Khumbu ice fall. The return retraces the route to Lobuche and further down to Zhonglha. Time 7 hours.
DAY 12: Cross Cholapas (5420m) and trek to Dragnak (4765m) - Guest House accommodation - Time 8 hours.
DAY 13: Trek to Gokyo Laka (4750m) - Guest House accommodation
An easy but slow day due to the altitude. We arrive at Gokyo‐ a high altitude Sherpa settlement along one of many lakes which dot the left side of the Ngozumpa glacier. Gokyo and Luza are typical of the high seasonal settlements used by Sherpas for grazing livestock and growing barley and potatoes. Time 5 hours
DAY 14: TREK TO GOKYO RI and GOKYO PEAK (5357m) – trek down to DOLE (4200m) - Guest House accommodation

With the Ngozumpa Glacier 609 meter below; the Cho Oyu wall is near to the left; and the trail we take over the Chuguima Pass down to the right – this will be one of the trek’s most memorable day. Time 8 hours
DAY 15: DOLE – NAMCHE BAZAR 3440M - Guest House accommodation

DAY 16: NAMCHE BAZAR – LUKLA 2800M - Guest House accommodation
Most people head towards Lukla with a heavy heart. There is something very special about the setting, the villages, the people of the high Khumbu hills and valleys and it is sad to leave them. After the sharp descent to the Dudh kosi we cross it by the high suspension bridge and then enjoy a pleasant day walking back through the valley villages of Monjo, Benkar and Phakding and then the deceptively long climb leading up to Lukla. Our campsite and lodge are well located and offer a good final resting sport for the one night stay before the early morning departure. This evening a party is organized with our trekking crew during which there is lots of Nepalese dancing and everyone is expected to dance!!! After the party with heavy hearts bid them goodbye. At this point it is recommended that the trek leader collect tips that clients may wish to give to the trekking crew. Time 7 hours
